Frequently Asked Questions -- So What?

The doctor sees only one patient at a time, i.e. does not leave to check hygiene. So what?

The dentist and treatment coordinator can stay completely focused on your individualized care without distraction, resulting in a shorter appointment, more service provided in less amount of time, increased quality and attention to your every need. Both busy professionals and soccer moms lose less time out of their schedules and work. Additionally, the doctor and staff remain on time with no reception room waiting. Both the doctor and the client develop a mutual respect for each other's time and schedules.

The majority of all dental services are provided on site. So what?

This benefits both efficiency and safety for you. What a luxury not to have to call another office, wait for an appointment, refill all the forms, establish new relationships and locate the office as well. Again, time required to complete your treatment is shortened when not at the mercy of another office's schedule. Safety is enhanced as well with only one doctor and one treatment coordinator providing care who knows you best both personally and clinically.

Office is totally HIPAA compliant, computerized and backed up off site. So what?

All of your patient information is no more than a key stroke away and can be sent to you or a specialist immediately. Your privacy is preserved with password protected records unlike traditional paper charts. Staff no longer can lose or misplace your patient records. There is no longer a need to fill out long hard-to-read paper forms. All health history information is completed in person by your doctor and treatment coordinator.

All x-rays are taken digitally. So what?

Your patient safety is greatly enhanced by the amazing reduction in radiation exposure. Images are seen instantly on a computer monitor decreasing the time required for processing, drying, and mounting of the films. The computer now provides the tools to allow the doctor to evaluate images better than with just the naked eye and to greatly aid in your comprehensive treatment planning. Your images can also be sent electronically to insurance companies, dramatically decreasing processing time and resulting in faster payment.

Surgical suite is on the premises. So what?

A sterile room and field can be maintained for invasive procedures such as periodontal surgery or implant placement, greatly reducing the chance of post-operative infection and pain. Magnification and specialty lighting allow the doctor to complete procedures with more precision in a shorter amount of time. Monitoring equipment is in place to provide for patient safety during sedation appointments. The room provides a quiet, comfortable environment to enhance a sense of calm and serenity. The suite will also support any specialist that may be invited to join our team.

Clients work exclusively with only treatment coordinator and hygienist. So what?

Like the Mayo Clinic model of optimal care, you will have direct contact with only one individual for everything from appointment scheduling, actual assistance during your clinical care, to billing questions. No more multiple phone calls to multiple people in different departments or having to re-state your question again and again to uninterested staff members. Quality care, exemplary customer service, and minimal frustration are the results of our optimal patient care model.

Entertainment includes satellite TV, streaming video, and DVDs in each room. So what?

In keeping with our patient focused time-sensitive model, the majority of our appointments are one to two hours in length. Everyone enjoys some form of distraction, whether it is classical music, your favorite afternoon soap opera, or just monitoring CNN for world news. Time goes faster and maybe you will get to watch that movie you have always wanted to see, but just couldn't find the time. Additionally, the voice canceling headphones will virtually eliminate the dental noises, but still allow you to communicate freely with the clinical staff.

We offer one appointment root canals. So what?

Emotionally, the public is still frightened when they are told of the need for a root canal. When they learn that the tooth can be completed in one visit, there is a tremendous sense of relief, as well as not having the inconvenience of a second appointment. Clinically though the client will heal faster, experience less pain when the infected area is completely cleaned of bacteria, sterilized, and sealed in one appointment.

We offer one-hour, one-appointment whitening services. So what?

In response to the American public's demand for faster, better, and more convenience, manufacturers of whitening systems have found a method to reduce the time necessary for a treatment. For chairside whitening, times have been reduced and the cost and post-treatment sensitivity have been virtually eliminated. For those patients who procrastinate, they can still dash in and leave after only one hour with a whitened smile before that important event, such as a wedding.
